Boating for pleasure on Britain’s inland waterways has a long tradition, although the tremendous increase over the last 40 years is mostly due to the renaissance of the country’s narrow canal network. The first inland boat owners book, written by Andy Burnett, was published in 1989 and sold out quickly, allowing Waterways World to introduce a revised, enlarged and full colour version in 1995. Like its predecessor, this was serialised in monthly chapters in the magazine, then published in book form. The 3rd edition has been planned from the outset as a book and this has enabled the author to rearrange the information in a more logical order rather than the six equally sized supplements previously allowed.  It is now in five sections each containing separate chapters.
