Trustee Applications for 2023 are now open. We are seeking applications from candidates who demonstrate the experience and skillsets that will be needed over the next three years to complement the skills of existing Trustees on the Board and to fill any vacancies.
The role of the Association’s Trustees is to optimise the charitable benefit achieved in fulfilment of its charitable objectives. As a member of the Board, an individual Trustee’s role is to use their skills and judgement to work collectively with the other Trustees to:
- ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit
- comply with the charity’s governing document and the law
- act in the charity’s best interests
- manage the charity’s resources responsibly
- act with reasonable care and skill
- ensure the charity is accountable
The opportunity will be further promoted on social media, through our newsletters, as well as through wider advertising. We are particularly seeking applications from individuals who are skilled in the areas of finance, fundraising, social media or Inland Waterways Association knowledge in this round of recruitment, but welcome applications from individuals with any experience they believe is valuable to the Association.
If you are interested in applying, the full applicant information pack is available here or can be obtained from IWA Head Office. Applications will close at midnight on 11 June and all applicants are asked to apply through providing a cover letter, completed skillset framework and CV to the Chair of the recruitment panel, Hannah Sterritt, at [email protected] or via post to IWA Head Office: Unit 16B, Chiltern Court, Asheridge Road, Chesham, HP5 2PX
