Waterways in the Branch
The Branch campaigns for the Aire & Calder Navigation, Calder & Hebble Navigation, Huddersfield Broad Canal, Huddersfield Narrow Canal, Leeds & Liverpool Canal, Rochdale Canal, Selby Canal and the Barnsley, Dearne & Dove restoration. The area is home to Standedge Tunnel, Britain’s longest and deepest canal tunnel.
For boaters and holiday makers the Outer Pennine Ring and the North Pennine Ring make for interesting, circular routes.

IWA West Riding Branch is keen to see more moorings on the canal through Saltaire to encourage more visitors to this beautiful town.
Re-opening the riverside
The towpaths on the canal sections of the Calder & Hebble and the Aire & Calder Navigations have great potential to be re-opened as walking routes.
