Our regional groups organise weekend canal restoration ‘digs’ for volunteers in England and Wales.  We travel all over the country to support restoration projects from as far south as the Wey & Arun Canal in Sussex, to as far north as the Lancaster Canal, and from the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation in Essex to the Montgomery Canal in Wales.  Each weekend is different to the last with work ranging from repairing locks and bridges to clearing overgrown vegetation from a derelict canal line; there really is something for everyone! 

Volunteers meet on Friday night and spend Saturday and Sunday working on site. Accommodation at a local hall is provided on Friday and Saturday nights.  All of our regional groups have a wealth of knowledge and skills and are always looking for new and enthusiastic volunteers to join in the fun.
