Our regional groups organise weekend canal restoration ‘digs’ for volunteers in England and Wales. We travel all over the country to support restoration projects from as far south as the Bridgwater Canal in Somerset, up as north as the Lancaster Canal. Each weekend is different to the last with work ranging from repairing locks and bridges to clearing overgrown vegetation from the derelict canal line; there really is something for everyone!
Volunteers meet on Friday night and spend Saturday and Sunday working on site. All of our regional groups have a wealth of knowledge and skills and are always looking for new and enthusiastic volunteers to join in the fun.
Britain's waterways are vital; together we can campaign for them now and for the future.
