The main campaign that IWA Chelmsford Branch is involved with is the proposal to extend navigation along the rivers Chelmer and Can into Chelmsford City centre. This proposal has the support of Chelmsford City Council, which has commissioned an engineering study to consider its feasibility alongside other waterside development plans in the area.
A new waterway
IWA Chelmsford Branch wants to see a new channel to link Springfield Basin with Chelmsford’s rivers.
