Easy Countryside and Waterway Guided Walk ~ In Cheshire and Free.
This free guided walk is open to the general public, and suitable for beginners. If you’re keeping fit and well and wish to come along and join us, we would love to see more guest visitors. Please book your place for the walk as soon as you are confident you will be available.
I hope that you are keeping well as we are looking forwards so much to meeting you. We only had 22 walkers attending the last walk and the additional IWA guests who insisted on a Saturday walk were also absent, so henceforth only Sunday walks will be organised. If you wish to come on this Christmas walk Santa hats are optional.
Starting with a delightful wooded cutting, the walk begins with a short length of the Bridgwater Canal, just as far as the next bridge, then over a footbridge into the very popular Walton Hall public park. All the footpaths are in excellent condition and there are no stiles and only a few kissing gates. After the park we will find the start of an ancient footpath taking us through a golf course. Following a buggy path which is also part of the Delamere Way, we join a footpath up the slope and through Hill Cliffe woods. We are then taken downhill through the estate along an enchanting and enclosed old urban footpath to London Bridge. A long towpath walk then brings us back to the pub.
There will be a ten-minute break about half-way round the walk for ‘bring your own’ refreshments.

This walk is suitable for all adults having good mobility. Excellent for friendly dogs, possible for buggies but difficult for wheelchairs. Suitable footwear will be anything stout and flat soled; trainers will be fine. If it has recently been raining heavily there could be a few occasional muddy patches. The pub toilets will be available at the finish of the walk; and hopefully at the start.
