Milton Keynes is a new city and unlike many other cities looks upon its canals as a major resource. The towpaths along the Grand Union Canal are generally well maintained and well used throughout. We now have the real prospect of a new cut through to Bedford, opening up the River Great Ouse as a regular cruising area and a major “ring” taking in the River Nene and the Middle Levels.
We also support the Grand Union Canal – Buckingham Arm, which is currently under active restoration.
Together we can protect and restore the waterways; Britain's 7,000 miles of canals and navigable rivers need your help.
