Easy Countryside and Waterway Guided Walk ~ In Cheshire and Free.
This free guided walk is open to the general public, and suitable for beginners. If you’re keeping fit and well and wish to come along and join us, we would love to see more guest visitors. Please book your place for the walk as soon as you are confident you will be available.
This circular walk will be about 4 miles long and has a variety of interesting features. There are three short fields of crops to cross and a number of farms to pass, and a small wood to walk through. The walk is mostly quite level and all of the paths are fairly well used. The return route takes you fair way along a quite country lane before following a long stretch of river Dee pathway onto the Duke of Westminster’s estate. He has given permission to use a section of his drive to gain access to the path uphill over a meadow, past a church, and back to the start. It’s unlikely you will meet any farm animals and there are only a few stiles, and only one you may have to lift any dogs over.
There will be a ten-minute break about half-way round the walk for ‘bring your own’ refreshments.
[The photo shows the Duke’s gate onto ta a meadow, you’ll be passing through this on the walk.]

This walk is suitable for all adults having good mobility. Excellent for friendly dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs. Suitable footwear will be anything stout and flat soled; trainers will be fine but boots will be the best. If it has recently been raining heavily there could be a few occasional muddy patches. The pub toilets will be available at the finish of the walk; and hopefully at the start.
Assemble at 10.15 am for a 10.30 start. Finish about 1.45 pm.
To book, send an email to Derek Smith, the walk’s organiser & guide – mailto: [email protected]
If you are bringing a partner please let me know both your names, and if you wish to book a place for the pub lunch afterwards please ask. Places at the pub are limited so it’s best to make an early booking. You can view the attached pdf menu here: – View the Menu
