IWA’s 67th Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday 19 September 2026 at the University of Worcester, St John’s Campus, Worcester, WR2 6AJ.
Members will be able to attend the sessions remotely as well as in person. Please register in advance (see below) whether you intend to attend in person or remotely.
Registration and refreshments will be available from 10.00am. From 10.30am attendees will hear the latest on IWA’s campaigning work, together with updates on the new IWA Restoration Delivery Group and the IWA Restoration Panel, and how these are helping to shape IWA’s approach to the restoration sector. IWA Sustainable Boating Group will then update us about Lithium Battery Safety. The formal AGM will begin at 12.30pm following the presentation of IWA National Awards. The afternoon offers a chance to catch up with other members over lunch, celebrate our achievements in our 80th anniversary year, before joining an optional guided walk.
The formal AGM agenda will include:
- Opening remarks and welcome
- Review and approval of the minutes of the 66th Annual General Meeting
- Receipt of the Trustees’ Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ending 31th December 2025, together with the Auditors’ Report
- Appointment of Trustees
- Appointment of Auditors

Guided visit option 1 – Museum of Royal Worcester
The guided tour lasts approximately one hour and will be tailored to our group, highlighting the museum’s connections with the local waterways. The tour will include archive photographs relating to canal transport and displays illustrating the transportation of raw materials. It will also explore key highlights of Worcester’s porcelain-making history, from the factory’s early experiments to royal commissions and examples of its craftsmanship. Visitors will have the opportunity to handle selected pieces from the museum’s collection.
Meeting point: 2.30pm at the Museum of Royal Worcester, Severn Street, Worcester (12 minutes’ drive from the AGM venue)

Guided visit option 2: Diglis Island & Fish Pass
The 90-minute guided visit offers an opportunity to explore Diglis Island and learn about the history of this man-made island in the River Severn, the impact of the river’s industrial use on wildlife, and the work being undertaken to restore river connectivity for migrating fish. The visit continues with a short walk along the towpath and across Diglis Bridge to the 100m-long Fish Pass, where visitors will discover how the structure enables fish to bypass the weir. The tour also includes access to the underwater viewing gallery.
