As the festive season approaches, dedicated volunteers have been hard at work to ensure that the Pocket Park on the Wendover Canal is in pristine condition for Christmas visitors. Armed with Strimmers, the volunteers have been attacking the long grass around the benches while diligently working around the young saplings planted in past years. This is to ensure the park is ready to welcome everyone.

Why not visit IWA’s tree? This was donated by IWA Chiltern Branch, while the circular bench is in remembrance of Carolyn Leonard, a past hard working committee member. This is the second circular seat that was installed around an IWA Chiltern Branch donated tree – the other is by Marsworth Locks.

Families, visitors, and their canine companions are all invited to enjoy the tranquillity of the community Pocket Park over the Christmas holidays (or, indeed, any other time). For those planning a visit, parking is conveniently available at Meads Farm shop (HP23 4NT), within a 10-minute walk. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful stroll or a fun outing with family and friends, Pocket Park is the perfect destination to experience the joys of the season amidst nature’s splendour. Come and explore the trail to the site of the Whitehouse Pumping Station and soak in the outdoor atmosphere, thanks to the tireless efforts of our busy volunteers..
