IWA Birmingham, Black Country & Worcestershire Branch

Events in the branch area

Birmingham, Black Country and Worcestershire is a small but lively branch with lots going on.  The branch has a range of social events and talks and walks to take part in, and members take part in the annual Birmingham Canal Navigations clean-up. Each year, in March, the IWA branch, along with Waterway Recovery Group and local waterway societies, aims to clear away rubbish and debris found along towpaths, under bridges and in the water from a selected length of one of Birmingham’s canals.  There is usually an impressive haul, ranging from the ubiquitous shopping trollies, old bikes and even the occasional coffin and blown-open safe.
