Easy Countryside and Waterway Guided Walk ~ In Cheshire and Free.
This free guided walk is open to the general public, and suitable for beginners. If you’re keeping fit and well and wish to come along and join us, we would love to see more guest visitors. Please book your place for the walk as soon as you are confident you will be available.
This is such a delightful and easy circular walk it’s almost a long and gentle stroll. All of the paths are good and most of them quite wide and you see quite long lengths of two waterways. There are a couple of bridal gates and one stile and the route is so well used and signed we won’t get lost at all. Apart from a short section of farm drive there are no roads included in the route. The short path through a small wood has a narrow and winding path and the continuous gentle slope up to the canal from the river has no steep sections at all. There’s one short meadow to cross – giving excellent views along the valley, the grass is short and there are no animals. Almost all of the return route is along the canal.
There will be a ten-minute break about half-way round the walk for ‘bring your own’ refreshments.

This walk is suitable for all adults having good mobility and is excellent for dogs. Excellent for friendly dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled; trainers will be fine but boots will be the best. If it has recently been raining heavily there could be a few occasional muddy patches. The pub toilets will be available at the finish of the walk; and hopefully at the start
Assemble at 10.15 am for a 10.30 start. Finish about 1.45 pm.
To book, you will need to phone or text the walk’s organiser & guide: – Derek Smith – 07500 300 347 – mornings is best – and do not leave any voicemails. If you are bringing a partner please let me know both your names, and your email address so I can send your booking confirmation and details of the parking arrangements. At the same time, if you wish to book a place for the pub lunch afterwards please ask. Places at the pub are limited so it’s best to make an early booking.
