Easy Countryside and Waterway Guided Walk ~ In Cheshire and Free.
This free guided walk is open to the general public, and suitable for beginners. If you’re keeping fit and well and wish to come along and join us, we would love to see more guest visitors. Please book your place for the walk as soon as you are confident you will be available.
Starting from the charming village of Kingsley, this circular walk along enchanting footpaths out of the town and across a host of meadows connected by a string of kissing gates. Farm drives and tracks bring you to the river Weaver and the North Cheshire Way along its bank, giving landscape views across the river on one side, and farmland on the other. At Catton Hall the footpath takes you through a long belt of bankside woodland, this time taking you over a string of short wooden bridges over marshy undergrowth. After rain the meadows are likely to be soggy underfoot. The return route is along tracks and quiet country lanes with a final short footpath back, with the only two stiles on this walk, taking you back to the pub at the end.
There will be a ten-minute break about half-way round the walk for ‘bring your own’ refreshments.

This walk is suitable for all adults having good mobility. Excellent for friendly dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs. Suitable footwear will be anything stout and flat soled; trainers will be fine but boots will be the best. If it has recently been raining heavily, it will be muddy and slippery in places, with a few very boggy patches. The pub toilets will be available at the finish of the walk; and hopefully at the start.
Assemble at 10.15 am for a 10.30 start. Finish about 2.00 pm.
To book, send an email to Derek Smith, the walk’s organiser & guide – mailto: [email protected]
If you are bringing a partner please let me know both your names, and if you wish to book a place for the pub lunch afterwards please ask. Places at the pub are limited so it’s best to make an early booking. You can view the attached pdf menu here: – View the Menu
