Fenny Stratford Festival view from Watling Street Bridge
Where?

Find us on the Grand Union Canal towpath at Fenny Stratford, south of the Watling Street bridge. We are open from 10.30am to 4.30pm  both days.
Use what3words location ///final.wrong.stone to find our Festival entrance.

Please note: Access is on foot via towpath only.  There is no parking on site – please park considerately in central Fenny Stratford.

What’s Happening?

Come along to our Festival and help our branch celebrate 50 years of supporting the local waterways!
Our fabulous floating market is well worth a visit. Take a look at the radio-controlled model boats. Possibly, find that perfect gift at one of the many craft and charity stalls.

Maybe, you might take a trip along the canal, on The Milton Keynes Community Boat “Electra” .  Which will be offering short return trips from the festival site, for a small fee.

Find out about local artist Graham Pellow .  He will be demonstrating “plein-air” painting, and bringing a selection of his paintings which will be on sale.

Take a moment to stop and speak to our wonderful volunteers, at the IWA gazebo.  Where you can see our huge waterway map, collect waterway info, buy IWA merchandise, become a member and take part in our raffle, to raise branch funds.

Admission is free.  Donations to IWA Milton Keynes Branch are gratefully accepted, and are used to support our  local waterway restoration schemes.

Why?

2026 is a huge year for The Inland Waterways Association who celebrate 80 years of  campaigning and caring for our beloved waterways. Whilst, our own local Milton Keynes Branch have been supporting, maintaining and restoring our local waterways for 50 years!
Could you join us and contribute to looking after our area too.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Waterway underfunding

Hundreds of miles of waterways – along with their unique heritage and habitats – are currently starved of funding and rely on constant lobbying by us to safeguard their future.

Sustainable Boating

We want boating on canals and rivers to be more sustainable and – even though the current overall contribution to UK carbon emissions is very small – we want to help reduce emissions on the waterways.

Waterways Heritage at Risk

Britain’s canals and rivers are a unique, living heritage. But that heritage is at risk – from urban development, lack of protection, loss of skills and knowledge and climate change.

You can help Save Waterways Heritage.

Waterway restoration

Restoring the UK’s blue infrastructure – our inherited network of navigable canals and rivers – is good for people and places.
