Easy Countryside and Waterway Guided Walk ~ In Cheshire and Free.

This free guided waterway walk is suitable for beginners, so if you’re keeping fit and well wish to come along and join us, we would love to see more guest visitors.   Please book your place for the walk, and perhaps for lunch, as soon as you are confident you will be available.

This circular walk is along well used footpaths all the way.   It’s a very pleasant walk, soon reaching a downhill stroll through the woods of Daresbury Firs which is quite delightful.   The length along the Bridgewater Canal is equally pleasant, even in the winter.  Then you descend to Red Brow Lane and pass under the aqueduct.   Climbing up the deep and gloomy cutting in dark, damp and solid rock is impressive – an experience not to be missed.   Higher up the lane are lovely views across the valley, and having reached to top of the hill we finish the walk along footpaths round cultivated fields and across a few more meadows.  The walk also has Lewis Carroll connections, so keep a sharp look-out for white rabbits.

There will be a ten-minute break about half-way round the walk for ‘bring your own’ refreshments and this walk will finish with an optional pub lunch.
