WRG Leadership Teams Day 2024
Back

Every year WRG holds a day for its volunteers who will be leading Canal Camps in the coming months, for those who are interested in becoming part of leadership teams or for those who want to learn more about leading and cooking specifically for a camp or weekend event.

Present WRG volunteer leaders will be emailed direct with more details and how to sign up.  If you have not had this email, please contact [email protected]

Others who may be interested should email [email protected] with their present role and why they think attending would be useful, and once we know numbers of present leaders and spaces left on the day we will be in touch to let you know if you have been successful or offer other opportunities to engage with our team for support information.

Waterway underfunding

Hundreds of miles of waterways – along with their unique heritage and habitats – are currently starved of funding and rely on constant lobbying by us to safeguard their future.

Sustainable Boating

We want boating on canals and rivers to be more sustainable and – even though the current overall contribution to UK carbon emissions is very small – we want to help reduce emissions on the waterways.

Waterways Heritage at Risk

Britain’s canals and rivers are a unique, living heritage. But that heritage is at risk – from urban development, lack of protection, loss of skills and knowledge and climate change.

You can help Save Waterways Heritage.

Waterway restoration

Restoring the UK’s blue infrastructure – our inherited network of navigable canals and rivers – is good for people and places.
