Join us for an online meeting with our National Chair, Paul Rodgers.

One month on from discussing advances in environmental boating on BBC Countryfile from Braunston, Paul Rodgers will share the latest developments in IWA in the year that sees the Association celebrate its 75th Anniversary.

The update will provide a review of one of the most challenging years in the history of the Association and include information about plans for changes to national committee structures, stronger communication and support for our volunteers and branches as well as the call for new trustees that has just gone out.

Paul will also look to the future and outline how every member of the Association can get involved. Members will have the opportunity to quiz Paul on these plans and share their thoughts on how IWA can continue to be relevant in the waterways scene for years to come.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.

Waterway underfunding

Hundreds of miles of waterways – along with their unique heritage and habitats – are currently starved of funding and rely on constant lobbying by us to safeguard their future.

Sustainable Boating

We want boating on canals and rivers to be more sustainable and – even though the current overall contribution to UK carbon emissions is very small – we want to help reduce emissions on the waterways.

Waterways Heritage at Risk

Britain’s canals and rivers are a unique, living heritage. But that heritage is at risk – from urban development, lack of protection, loss of skills and knowledge and climate change.

You can help Save Waterways Heritage.

Waterway restoration

Restoring the UK’s blue infrastructure – our inherited network of navigable canals and rivers – is good for people and places.
