Join us for an online IWA talk with CRT’s Richard Parry and Daniel Greenhalgh

As the canal network returns to something more like normality, IWA Shrewsbury District & North Wales Branch hosts the first IWA webinar focusing on items of regional interest. We’re delighted to welcome Canal & River Trust Chief Executive, Richard Parry, and CRT North West Region Director, Daniel Greenhalgh. They will talk to us about the challenges and opportunities in Leading Canal & River Trust Back from Lockdown. Richard will give viewers a national perspective, while Daniel will concentrate on the issues affecting the waterways in CRT’s North West Region.

It’s easy to join this talk using a computer, tablet or smart phone. Alternatively you can dial in from a land line or mobile and simply listen.

We think this session will be of particular interest to IWA members in branches covering the CRT North West waterways, but attendance is open to all and as numbers are limited, we strongly advise that you register early to reserve your place.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the session.

Waterway underfunding

Hundreds of miles of waterways – along with their unique heritage and habitats – are currently starved of funding and rely on constant lobbying by us to safeguard their future.

Sustainable Boating

We want boating on canals and rivers to be more sustainable and – even though the current overall contribution to UK carbon emissions is very small – we want to help reduce emissions on the waterways.

Waterways Heritage at Risk

Britain’s canals and rivers are a unique, living heritage. But that heritage is at risk – from urban development, lack of protection, loss of skills and knowledge and climate change.

You can help Save Waterways Heritage.

Waterway restoration

Restoring the UK’s blue infrastructure – our inherited network of navigable canals and rivers – is good for people and places.
