Guided Walk - Sankey Canal - Newton-Le-Willows

Length of towpath walk 2.8 miles, 2 hours approx. Led by Nigel Hardacre.

This is an easy route, but good walking shoes or boots are still recommended.

Meet at Sankey Canal car park off Bradlegh Road in Newton-le-Willows (Postcode WA12 8DN).

9.45am for a 10am start. Please note that are no WC facilities at the car park or on the walk route. (Shell petrol station off J23 M6/A580 roundabout are the nearest and 10 mins drive from the start/meeting point).

The return part of the walk follows the towpath back to the car park next to the swing bridge. There is a pub, The Nine Arches, less than 10 mins drive away after the walk has finished, back in Newton itself. Postcode WA12 9NE on Legh Street.

Well behaved dogs are welcome on the walk with the most of the route requiring them to be on a lead or under close control as its a shared path/cycle way and part of the Sankey Valley Trail.
