Waterways photography competition

Thank you for donating images for us to use.

The competition is open to all photographers, both amateur and professional, and are aged 18 or over.

By entering images to IWA’s photography competition, you are confirming that you:

• are the sole author of each entry and that it is your original work
• own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image
• have the permission of anyone pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian)

• Photos need to be a high resolution, and at least 2100 pixels x 1500 pixels/1MB.  Thumbnails and low resolution images will not be considered.
• A maximum of 30 can be entered per person.
• We accept photographs in both landscape or portrait orientation
• Photos should feature navigable waterways, or canals that are under restoration or derelict. Photographs of canals and rivers listed in our Waterways Directory will meet this requirement. Photographs relating to the boating community in general are also acceptable. Images that do not meet these requirements will be disqualified
• Photos should only feature waterways that are located in the UK
• Photos with visible faces of children or people under the age of 18 as subjects are not to be entered, unless you have the written consent of the legal parent or guardian. You must fill in IWA’s form for consent; please email [email protected]
• Any significant digital enhancements made to each photo must be disclosed. Failure to let us know is likely to result in disqualification.

By entering, you give IWA permission to use your imagery across our marketing platforms (both in print and online) in promoting our campaigns and allow the use of your name when crediting you as the owner and/or the winner of the competition.

Copyright will always remain with the photographer. IWA will make every reasonable effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium.
