Waterways Books For Sale

IWA has been donated a large collection of waterways books to sell for funds for the Association’s work.

A small part of the collection accompanied IWA sales stand at Canalway Cavalcade, Crick and Braunston Boat Show, where we raised over £500 from the sale of these books.  We have now added some more books from the collection to the schedule, which can be downloaded here.  If you would like to purchase any of the books, please e-mail [email protected], who will respond to confirm availability and arrange payment.  The books are all priced at less than the cost they can currently be purchased second hand at Amazon.co.uk.  Use the ISBN number listed in the schedule to search on Amazon.co.uk for details of each book.  Amazon prices shown in the schedule were correct at day of compilation, and include delivery, but these prices can change daily.  Our price for each book is shown in the far right hand column.  Prices include post, subject to a minimum order of £10.  For orders under £10, add £3 for post.

A further selection of books from the collection will be added to the schedule by 1st September 2024.

IWA at 75

The Inland Waterways Association has just notched-up 75 years of campaigns to save, restore and protect our canals and rivers.

Follow our photographic journey, which celebrates the work of volunteers and campaigners across the country who saved the waterways and helped to make them what they are today.

Waterway underfunding

Hundreds of miles of waterways – along with their unique heritage and habitats – are currently starved of funding and rely on constant lobbying by us to safeguard their future.

Sustainable Boating

We want boating on canals and rivers to be more sustainable and – even though the current overall contribution to UK carbon emissions is very small – we want to help reduce emissions on the waterways.

Waterways Heritage at Risk

Britain’s canals and rivers are a unique, living heritage. But that heritage is at risk – from urban development, lack of protection, loss of skills and knowledge and climate change.

You can help Save Waterways Heritage.

Waterway restoration

Restoring the UK’s blue infrastructure – our inherited network of navigable canals and rivers – is good for people and places.
