Boat Trips on the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation
Hop on a boat from Paper Mill Lock near Chelmsford, or from the kiosk (just above Daisy Meadow car park) at Heybridge Basin, near Maldon.
Trips operate most days from Good Friday until the end of September, usually from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Trips depart every hour, on the hour, from both sites, and last just under an hour.
Both vessels are fully equipped to cater for passengers in wheelchairs and pushchairs
Trip prices are:
- £6 adults
- £5 children aged under 16 (excluding babes-in-arms, for which no charge)
- £20 family ticket (for up to four people)

We are also now operating our new City Boat in Chelmsford City Centre on weekends and school holidays. The boat operates rom a new pontoon in front of the Wildwood restaurant in Backnang Square. Tickets £4 adults and £2 children, from the ice-cream trike by the pontoon.
