Role

Are you a social media guru? Keen to help grow followers? Happy to engage with a brilliant and lively community? Well, the role of Social Media Assistant as part of the IWA Canalway Cavalcade Committee could be for you.

We’re looking for a driven, confident and considered individual to join our team and help us grow our social media following. An integral part of our image, the role includes defining a social media plan for the year, delivering engaging content both written and visual, and communicating with the community that make our event what it is.

Our waterways festival has been running every year since 1983 and is the jewel in the crown of waterways festivals. Held in Little Venice, London, it’s a unique event catering to the thriving boating community, the local residents, and large numbers of tourists. Each year we see upwards of 20,000 visitors over the bank holiday weekend.

You will need to have previous experience of running successful social media accounts, beyond your personal one. Your tone of voice and eye for detail will generate meaningful content for our followers to engage with. And you will have the expertise to make posts across platforms beautiful!

Experience of the waterways is essential, and knowledge of the IWA or charity sector would be beneficial.
