The Annual Birmingham Canals Clean-up weekend is a great opportunity to have fun and meet new people while clearing shopping trolleys, tyres, bicycles and even more exciting treasures from the canal! It is hoped this annual effort on the BCN will help keep the less well used parts of the BCN & Black Country Network from getting choked up with rubbish and becoming impassable for boats!
This year, Waterway Recovery Group volunteers will be working on the Tipton BCN old and new main line canals.
WRG volunteers are supported each year by volunteers from Inland Waterways Association West Mids Branch, Canal & River Trust as well as Birmingham Canal Navigations Society and Coombeswood Canal Trust.
Basic accommodation is provided from Friday night.
Please bring camp beds/sleeping bags.
