The decision to scrap much of the Eastern Leg of HS2 Phase 2b, means that the Trent Navigation’s Cranfleet Cut is no longer under threat from HS2.
The Long Eaton and Toton Viaduct would have crossed the Trent Navigation’s Cranfleet Cut directly over canal boat moorings of the Nottingham Yacht Club, extending along the canal banks and the mooring basin.
This would have meant noise intrusion for the residential boats moored there.
