While the weather might be unpredictable, weeds will nevertheless grow when flowerbeds are untended. Both the lock garden and the Incredible Edible plot on the Ashton Canal needed some work done.

A heavy growth of brambles was cut back at the lock garden but more weeding is needed at the next work party. Abundant weeds masked a large amount of litter at the Incredible Edible garden. Both locations require far more work, so they will be the venue for March’s work party, when we might also do some planting.

A towpath walker informed us of some fallen trees straddling the canal. Our volunteers made sure that the information got to the navigation authority, CRT.
